Meet anyone you want

Apr. 4, 2006. 01:00 AM

To join Meetup, go to meetup.com, pick your city, then pick your passion.

You must sign in to join groups, and you can get email updates to keep track of discussions and events. Some meetups are closed to new members and others require permission from the organizer before you can join.

Can't find a group that suits you? Start one of your own for a monthly fee of $12 (U.S.).

Toronto is tops for meetups in Canada, with 228 groups (and counting) including the very active Toronto Photography Meetup Group which you can find at http://photo.meetup.com/100

Discuss favourite rhymesters and share some of your stuff at the poetry meetup. http://poetry.meetup.com/206.

The city's bi-polar disorder meetup is the largest of its kind in the world with 121 people. http://bipolar.meetup.com/8

According to the company, Toronto is also home to the largest Sport Bike, Urban Exploration, Dog Rescue and Work at Home meetups in the world.

And, yes, we have the second-largest Michael Jackson fan club, anywhere. Seriously. http://michaeljackson.meetup.com/15.
