2006 has been a busy year. In the last 12 months, the St Louis Boardgame Meetup Group http://boardgames.meetup.com/9/about/ has had a total of 92 scheduled events (not counting a number of ad-hoc events for people who've got together for marathon sessions of TI3 for example). An estimated 1066 people have attended (including people turning up to multiple events), but I don't have the data to show the number of different people.
Together, we played 913 games, 327 different. As of December, we had 8 regular events a month, and 2 new ones are starting up in January. These events are across the metro area, to accommodate where people live. No, I don't go to all of them :)
Our membership ranges from die-hard Eurogamers ("sure, I'll play caylus as my one game of the night") to people who, before they join, only think of Monopoly and Scrabble when you mention "board games". Some people have come a few times, then disappeared, and others, that you expect to disappear have just kept on coming, really getting into the new style of games. We even have some hard-core wargamers and had some special war-gaming events too.
If you're in the St Louis metro area any time, please feel free to join us. We meet as far east as O'Fallon, IL, and as far west as St Peters, MO.
This is a list of the games we've played, most often played first.
